Our Story

Live and Love Like Taylor is a nonprofit organization that was started to honor Taylor Nicole Bentley who took her own life after battling addiction, mental illness and struggling with the isolation due to COVID-19.

She was a vibrant, energetic, and beautiful young woman both inside and out. She wrote poetry, loved animals and had compassion for those less fortunate. She had a special passion for the homeless since her mother had spent time on the streets due to a history of drug abuse. That passion grew when her mother died of an overdose in February of 2018. That Christmas, while shopping Taylor appeared before her family barefoot and smiling, stating that she had just given her brand new tennis shoes to a homeless woman for Christmas. She knew most of the local homeless by name and how they ended up on the streets.

Why We Started Non-Profit

Live and Love Like Tay was founded to honor Taylor Nicole Bentley, a beautiful soul who lost her life to the struggles of addiction, mental illness, and the isolation of COVID-19. Despite her own pain, Taylor showed deep compassion for others—especially the homeless and those battling similar challenges. We started this nonprofit to carry on her love, her kindness, and her mission to help others. Through this work, we turn heartbreak into hope and ensure that Taylor’s light continues to shine—by saving lives, spreading love, and reminding others they are never alone.
